Trent Garner is a South Arkansas attorney, former state senator, and decorated combat veteran. Admitted to the State Bar of Arkansas in 2014, he has spent more than a decade practicing law in his home state, with a focus on estate planning, criminal defense, and general civil matters.
From 2017 to 2022, Trent represented District 27 in the Arkansas State Senate, serving more than 81,000 constituents across south Arkansas. He chaired the Legislative Joint Auditing Subcommittee on Counties and Municipalities, served as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs, and was lead sponsor on dozens of bills signed into Arkansas law.
Trent is a Special Forces Green Beret in the United States Army, where he served as a Weapons Expert on a Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (SFODA). He completed two combat tours in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, planning and leading reconnaissance patrols along the Pakistani border. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal with “V” Device and the Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device, both awarded for valor in combat.
He earned his Juris Doctor and a concurrent Master of Arts in Political Science (International Relations) from the University of Arkansas, and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he completed his undergraduate degree in three years.
